This thesis was made for ABB´s Industry Solutions and the purpose of thesis was

to concentrate on the remote supporting of ACS880- product family frequency

converters. The aim was to find the best way to complete the remote support re-

garding both the functionality and the costs.

The main observations in this thesis related to the findings obtained from testing

and interviews. The aim of interviews was to resolve the needs of remote support

and concrete methods of implementations at the site. The purpose of the testing

was to find the weaknesses and faults in the functionality of programs.

In the end the right result was found to complete the remote support of ACS880-

frequency converters. The testing was also made and the remote support was

made to work as required. The remote support was carried out so that there is a

possibility of extension to the other devices. The final solution was also optimal in

terms of costs.
